Don't blame the media for Kamala's bad press - New York Post

Kamala Harris’ record so far has been so disastrous that top female allies held a “crisis dinner” last month to try to stop the bad p.r. Yet their problem isn’t the press; it’s Harris.

As Axios reported, the dinner was meant to plan how to defend the veep and her chief of staff, Tina Flournoy, amid claims of a toxic office climate and what some say is sexism. It was organized by Kiki McLean, an adviser to Bill and Hillary Clinton, and featured former Obama communications director Jennifer Palmieri, Harris confidante Minyon Moore, Biden adviser Stephanie Cutter and Hillary Clinton spokeswomen Karen Finney and Adrienne Elrod.

If these people want Harris to draw better press, there’s an obvious solution: Get her to do a better job. Her handling of the border crisis, her top-priority assignment, has been abysmal. Yeah, we know: She’s in a no-win situation since it was her boss, President Joe Biden, who created the crisis. But her (few) press appearances have only made her seem arrogant and otherwise useless on this issue.

Nor can the media be blamed for her office’s dysfunction. Politico cited nearly two dozen current and former aides, administration officials and associates pointing the finger at the VP for a “chaotic” work environment.

Fact is, being called out for general incompetence isn’t “sexist” or the fault of biased press. If Harris & Co. want better p.r., she’ll have to earn it.
