The State of Wisconsin has become ground zero on issues of racial inequality and injustice. On the eve of perhaps one of the most important elections of our time, WCP Consulting & Communications, a North Carolina based agency joined forces with Voces de la Frontera, Justice Wisconsin, and other organizations, to urge everyone to VOTE! While there will be community activists and citizens from Wisconsin, multiple leaders and celebrity voices from around the country will speak out against Voter Suppression, police brutality, and racial injustice while driving home the message that voting can "Change the Narrative."
National recording artist, record producer, and social engineer, Johnny Gill, agreed to host this important event and he called on many of his celebrity friends to share their voices. Gill said, "We all have a part to play in this country, no matter how big or small. I am just glad to be playing my part." He adds, "This election cycle has shed light on the violence and hatred that exists in our country, and it is a frightening reminder of what our ancestors fought and died to combat."
Joining from around the country and streaming online via Facebook and Instagram, celebrity voices, community activists, families, and individuals who want to change the narrative, will speak out during this 90-minute rally, which will feature messages to encourage racial justice and equality along with urging everyone to VOTE. There will be performances by Aloe Blacc, Maya Jupiter, Joey Dosik and ON/NOTICE. A few of the rally participants include Rev. Al Sharpton, Vivica Fox, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Loida Lewis, Attorney Willie Gary, Rosalind Ray, Ilyasah Shabazz, Bishop Sir Walter L. Mack, Jr., Attorney B'Ivory LaMarr, Tory Lowe and the sponsor chairpersons, Christine Neumann-Ortiz of Voces de la Frontera and Tanya Wiley of WCP Consulting & Communications.
