With some Milwaukee Bucks role players meeting with the media Friday afternoon, we round up some of the bigger takeaways from the second day of Media Week.

As they’re on the eve of opening up their training camp in full, the Milwaukee Bucks are ready to kick off what could be a magical 2020-21 season.

The Bucks kicked off their Media Week on Thursday afternoon and there was no shortage of things to take away from the various media availabilities, especially in meeting the likes of D.J. Augustin, Torrey Craig and Jrue Holiday.

Friday morning and afternoon brought forth Donte DiVincenzo, Sam Merrill and Bobby Portis meeting with the media, with the latter two making their first appearances with Milwaukee media.

Thankfully, the Bucks have uploaded the full press conferences of DiVincenzo, Merrill and Portis, all of which you can watch here.

So without further ado, let’s dive into what the likes of DiVincenzo, Merrill and Portis all discussed during the second day of the Milwaukee Bucks’ Media Week.

The Milwaukee Bucks’ winning culture attracted Bobby Portis in free agency

After five NBA seasons and three stops in the span of two years, Bobby Portis comes to Milwaukee with something to prove. That something is playing for a winning organization like the Bucks have been over the last couple of seasons, all of which attracted Portis going into free agency:

“I just wanted to be a part of winning. I’m going into my sixth year in the NBA now and I’ve been on a couple of winning teams, but it’s been up and down the whole time. Having the opportunity being on a winning team and a winning culture was big for me.”

When asked about his preference of playing at the 4 or 5-spot, Portis made it clear that he will doing anything that will be asked of him by head coach Mike Budenholzer:

“I don’t have a preference at all. I’m a guy that goes out there and does what coach wants me to do. I’ve never been a ‘me’ guy, always been a ‘we’ guy.”
