South Orange, N.J. - The Pirate Sports Network's (PSN) digital series "The Voyage," which chronicled the 2019-20 Seton Hall men's basketball season, was named the 2020 recipient of the Sports Video Group (SVG) College Sports Media Award in the Outstanding Program Series Collegiate Student category. The award was announced by ESPN personality Rece Davis during the 2020 SVG College Sports Media Awards ceremony in association with NACDA, sponsored by Ross Video, which aired live on YouTube Thursday night. Each year, the College Sports Media Awards celebrates video content achievement from collegiate athletic departments, conference offices, professional networks, production companies, and students.

The Voyage was a PSN production with recent Seton Hall graduate Keith Egan '19 (Tinton Falls, N.J.) serving as director, editor and cameraman, recent graduate Joe Binder '20 (New Cumberland, Pa.) serving as cameraman and graphics editor and rising junior Andrew Miller '22 (Warren, N.J.) serving as cameraman. The Voyage produced 21 full chapters throughout the season plus a senior night salute and a season recap set to the song "One Shining Moment."

"I am so proud of Keith, Joe & Drew for their incredible work all year long, and I'm excited that they had the opportunity to be nationally recognized for The Voyage," said Thomas Chen, Seton Hall's Associate Athletics Director for Digital Media and Communications and the Pirate Sports Network's Executive Producer. "On their behalf, I want to thank the Sports Video Group and the selection committee for this tremendous honor. These students worked so hard to promote Seton Hall men's basketball and tell the story of an unforgettable season, and I'm grateful that receiving this award will help shine a light on their talent."

The Pirate Sports Network, now a four-time SVG College Sports Media Award finalist, is almost entirely run by Seton Hall students who are eager to develop a career in content creation, video editing, television, live production and broadcasting. PSN members gain valuable experience covering Seton Hall student-athletes, which helps them prepare for life after graduation. Jobs that PSN alumni have gone on to land include television sports anchor, play-by-play broadcaster on national television, coordinating producer for digital sports events, graphics coordinator at a major sports network and communications director at a Div. I collegiate athletics department.
