James Harden spoke to the media Wednesday for the first time since reportedly asking to be traded and since showing up to Rockets training camp late.
Harden, answering questions after Wednesday's practice and a day after making his preseason debut against the Spurs, was asked multiple times about demanding a trade.
“Right now, I’m focused on being here," Harden said. "Today was good, yesterday felt really good being out there for the first time since the bubble. I hadn’t really had an opportunity to do a lot of five-on-five work, but for my first time being out there, I think I felt pretty good.”

When pressed again, he said: “I can only focus on right now and, for me, the best James Harden is making sure I’m in shape.”
Harden also was questioned about being in Atlanta and Las Vegas for rapper Lil Baby’s birthday parties instead of in training camp with the Rockets. Harden said he was training on his own and that his personal trainers were with him.
Harden also was complimentary of Rockets' new head coach Stephen Silas and how he's dealt with the numerous changes on the roster and in the front office, including the exit of general manager Daryl Morey.
"There's a lot of changes," Harden said. "Obviously, the entire coaching staff, some of the front office, a lot of the players. This is where we are. Coach (Silas) has done an unbelievable job of communicating with the guys and just putting the structure in and getting things going."
Harden had 12 points and four assists in 21 minutes on Tuesday night.
