As we head into the dog days of December, the #5thLine has much to look forward to, including the possibility of a return to the ice. Let's take a look at what to expect and more in today's Social Roundup, presented by Truly Hard Seltzer!

On Friday night, the NHL announced that both the league and the NHL Player Association reached a tentative agreement to return to the ice around mid-January. While not officially official, the news had the hockey world bumping! See for yourself:

While still pending a vote by the NHL Board of Govenors and the NHLPA, the new season will feature a 56-game regular season beginning on Jan. 13. Games will also be realigned within new divisions, including an all-Canadian division.

"We are focused on starting at some point hopefully in mid-January. It is clear that we will not be playing an 82-game schedule for the regular season, which we normally do, but we're going to try and play as many games as possible." - NHL Commisioner Gary Bettman

Obviously we here are the Blue Jackets are over the moon about the news and we'll keep a close eye on any developments that may come up in the next couple weeks!

In #CBJ20 news, we saw the return of our first-ever bench boss - Dave King - who joined Jackets Insider Jeff Svoboda on the first episode of our new series "Where Are They Now?" presented by Huntington.

King reminisced on the early days of the franchise as well as some of the classic names he got the opportunity to coach. Check out the interview below ⬇️

Friday also marked the first shutout in CBJ history, which we celebrated over on Twitter and Facebook. The date was Dec. 18, 2000 when Ron Tugnutt blanked the Montreal Canadiens 2-0 for the historic mark.

Before he earned the milestone victory, Tugnutt said "The deeper we got into the game, the more I started thinking about it. I wanted it. I really wanted it."
