We have kept you posted on what the Yankees have been up to on social media ever since baseball shut down back in March. Although the baseball season is over, we’ll still provide weekly updates on what your favorite Yankees do when they’re not on the diamond!
Yankees ringing in the new year
Happy New Year, everyone! Hopefully you enjoyed the day as much as these Yankees did. Here, Luis Cessa, Thairo Estrada and Gio Urshela all posted 2021 photos on Instagram. Cessa says he welcomes 2021 in great faith and hopes for a championship in front of Yankees fans this upcoming season.
#IAmStillGary
Gary Sánchez had a nightmare season in 2020, there’s no denying that. He hit .147 and struck out at a career-high 36 percent clip. However, he’s keeping his head up and knows he’ll be better in 2021. On Instagram, he thanked all the fans who still support him and stated that he will prove those fans right. He even used the hashtag “IAmStillGary,” which is pretty awesome. A confident Gary is something the Yankees need.
Deivi works on his craft
The youngster showed off his arsenal during this video of a workout with his brother, Andres. García, who pitched 34 1⁄3 innings for New York last year, is primed to have a bigger role this year. He’s only 21 years old, but he should be a vital part of the team as their rotation depth has slimmed down.
Mike King asks for jersey number recommendations
It’s not very often that a professional athlete asks the fans what number they should wear. But for Mike King, he did just that. He sported the number 73 in his rookie season, but may be looking for a change. Any suggestions for the right-hander?
