“I’m back!!!!!!!!”

“I lost my best friend my number one lady… So this next wave of greatness is coming with a lot of pain and passion”

“This for you MA!!!!! IM DIFFERENT BELIEVE THAT!”

Those Clippers fans who have been monitoring Montrezl Harrell’s social media posts, sympathizing with him after he lost his grandmother and wondering when they might see him on the court again, they got an answer early Monday morning.

With a series of tweets, Harrell — who left the bubble July 17 — announced his arrival in the bubble at Lake Buena Vista, Florida. He also posted a photo on his Instagram story of his view of Walt Disney World Resort from his hotel, where he’ll have to quarantine for four days as part of the league’s coronavirus-testing protocol before he can rejoin his team ahead of the playoffs in a week.

After Sunday’s loss to the Brooklyn Nets, Clippers Coach Doc Rivers didn’t divulge any details about when Harrell might arrive in the bubble when he was asked Sunday. He did sound optimistic: “We hope so. That’s all I can say.”

And Kawhi Leonard talked about the challenges of getting the unit collectively up to speed without Harrell on-site.

“We definitely got to be in a better rhythm,” Leonard said Sunday in his postgame interview over Zoom. “Guys have been in and out of the lineup, key guys. Still waiting on Trezz to get back, you know what I mean?

“He brings a lot of energy for us,” Leonard added. “Good rebounder. Also good on switching. Good post-up player. Good passer. Once we add a guy that’s playing the whole entire game, 48 minutes, I think it will make the team better.”

The 6-foot-7 Harrell has been a big piece of the Clippers’ success this season, averaging career-highs in points (18.6), rebounds (7.1) and minutes (27.8) off the bench. Last week, he and Lou Williams earned recognition as finalists for Sixth Man of the Year Award.

The second-seeded Clippers — 47-23 overall, a game ahead of third-seeded Denver with two seeding games to play — are 3-3 in the bubble without Harrell.

Since the team arrived in early July, Clippers’ Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams also left Florida to deal with pressing personal matters before returning to quarantine and re-acclimate to NBA basketball. Williams was forced to quarantine for an extended, 10-day period because he visited a popular gentlemen’s club in Atlanta for food while he was home to pay his respects to a mentor.

The Clippers’ Ivica Zubac and Landry Shamet also were both late-arriving to the bubble after contracting the coronavirus before the team departed. And Leonard, JaMychal Green and Marcus Morris Sr. also were slightly delayed in their arrival too, because of their own personal matters.

The Clippers expressed support for Harrell in his absence.

“I get asked from inside, like, ‘When is Trezz coming back?’” Rivers said recently. “And my answer’s been the same: When he’s ready. When he’s ready he’ll come back. You can’t play if you’re not right mentally and because of the emotional part of it.

“His grandmother is very tight with him, so all I told him is I love him and take your time. We’ll be ready with open arms when you come.”

Said Williams, following his first game back Aug. 4: “I pray and I really hope these fans understand what Trezz is going through while he’s away, so when he come back people don’t have a lot to say … We’re having real-life issues in the world.”
