As of Friday, the bond conditions for David Lesh have been changed resulting from a photo posted on his personal Instagram in mid-October that appeared to depict Lesh defecating in Maroon Lake. The change means that Lesh is now banned from entering U.S. Forest Service land, as well as from posting photos and videos on social media that depict him or anyone else violating the law on federal land.
According to the Aspen Times, the legitimacy of the photo depicting the defecation was brought into question, with some details indicating that it may be old or fake. Ultimately, it was decided that the posting of the photo showed "intent to flout the court's order."
The ban is set to last for the duration of Lesh's federal court case, at least.
The greater ongoing case against Lesh stems from accusations that he illegally took a snowmobile off a jump at Keystone Resort, as well as accusations that he broke rules at Hanging Lake.
