sanirbanir.blogspot.com

Join us on Aug. 12 as we discuss how to use images, graphics, videos and virtual reality films from The Times in the classroom.

In addition to articles, The New York Times offers photographs, illustrations, graphics, videos and virtual reality films that are accessible to learners of all levels. Every school day, The Learning Network uses this rich collection of visuals to create new teaching resources that help educators bring the world to their classrooms.

In this webinar, editors from The Learning Network discuss the following ways to use visual media from The Times:

  • Encounter new perspectives and explore the world through virtual reality documentaries.

  • Build literacy skills, promote discussion and foster creativity by using our image-based Picture Prompts.

  • Activate critical thinking and practice data analysis by participating in our weekly “What’s Going On in This Graph?” discussions.

  • Strengthen close reading skills by joining our regular “What’s Going On in This Picture?” activity.

C.T.L.E. credit is available for New York educators. All participants will receive a certificate of completion.

Register now to join our live webinar or to receive a link to view the on-demand recording.
