Pac-12 Football Media Days is today, which means football’s around the corner. We’ll post updates here all day:
To start with, Christian Caple has his players he’s most excited to watch in camp.
UW was chosen by the media to finish second in the Pac-12 North, receiving two first-place votes. Oregon received all 38 other first-place votes. The Ducks were chosen to top USC in a Pac-12 title game rematch.

UW's preseason All-Pac-12 picks featured three first-team performers (LT Jaxson Kirkland, TE Cade Otton and DB Trent McDuffie), one second-team performer (LB Edefuan Ulofoshio) and four honorable mentions (Luke Wattenberg, Henry Bainivalu, Kyler Gordon and Peyton Henry).

New Pac-12 commissioner George Kliavkoff says half of the league's teams are at 90%+ vaccination. Eight are at 80%+.

He also said he doesn't think expansion is necessary. Says the Pac-12 has a high threshold for entry.

As far as recognizing the Pac-12’s continued success in other sports needs the revenue from these two to maintain their superiority, I have no problem with this:
Kliavkoff said the Pac-12 is "hyper focused on greater success in football and men's basketball."

Kliavkoff says the Pac-12 is launching a strategic working group specifically for football. Everything is on the table: divisions (or lack thereof), scheduling, conference games, etc.

The Pac-12 Networks will add a licensing program that will provide highlights etc. to athletes for NIL activities.

Kliavkoff says a potential scheduling alliance with another conference is an "interesting opportunity" and "under discussion"

“Competitititiveness”
#UW’s Jimmy Lake said the Huskies brought in doctors to discuss the benefit of vaccines w/ players.
“After all the info we received, it was beyond, it was 100% that you should go get this vaccine. It’s the best thing you can do to end the pandemic & to protect your safety.” pic.twitter.com/k9rfwvVj12

Chris Petersen is now a consultant for UW athletic director Jennifer Cohen after serving as Fritzky Chair in Leadership for the Foster School of Business over the past year
— Lars Hanson (@LarsHanson) July 27, 2021
Trent McDuffie, asked about players on offense that have stood out to him or who are a tough matchup in practice:
"I think the young guys, Jalen McMillan and Rome Odunze, have done a great job stepping up. Those are going to be two guys that take over this wide receiver room."

Do good things, don’t do bad things, and bow down to Washington.
