Make plans to attend Cowley College’s Student Showcase Life Through Word & Lens and Media Club Silent Auction December 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.
The evening will consist of a gallery showing of writing student and mass communication student works. There will also be a creative writing photography and film presented by students of Cowley College instructors Marlys Cervantes, Ryan Doom, and Meg Smith.
“We're trying something new this year and tying in the fundraisers for both Media Club and Creative Claws,” Meg Smith said. “The silent auction will benefit Media Club as they travel to Long Beach for an upcoming media conference (ACP and CMA). The Life Through Word and Lens Gallery will once more be filled with portfolios and photos for friends, family, and our community to peruse. We will also showcase the student film, Finding Neomi as well as the audio video production class' other short productions, Creepy Pastas and the practicum class' newscasts and other programing.”
Along with Creative Writing, Poetry Writing, and Screenwriting classes will also be preparing portfolios for the showcase.
“We will have both the showcase in the gallery and a virtual one where portfolios can be seen online for those families who live too far to be with us in person,” Cervantes said.
There will also be a reception serving finger foods along with the event.
